Well all righty folks let's get this thing moving along.....( rollin...rollin...rollin...get those mule trains rollin...rawwwwwwwwwwwhiiiiiiiddddddddd)
Gov. Kathleen Blanco won a legislative committee's approval friday ( 6-23-07) for her plan to offer $100 Million in TAXPAYER MONEY, to insurance companies ...uhhhhh-haaaaaa....
and why?
This is only for the "ins. companies that agree to write homeowners policies in the coastal La area.
Hummmmmmm...now...for some reason this just doesn't sound good. Something is fishy with this one...
Ok now...this is how it goes...
Senate Fin. Comm. amended the bill to give the legislature oversight over how the grants up to $10 mil each are handed out to private insurers that agree to write new policies in hurricane prone zones.
All right...so now we have to pay the insurance companies to do a job before they do it...hummmya think the government would jump on the band wagon like they did with the flood insuance and start one for the coastal area instead of paying all of our taxpayer's dollars to folks like...
State Farm Ins., Farmers Ins, All State Ins...etc....especially after State Farm Ins litterally screwed alot of coastal area folks out of their money...( I know, I was one of them left with crap from them...)
Ok now on with the show....
The Panel then approved the house backed measure without objection.
The amended bill would allow the state dept. of Ins to approve the grants, contingent upon final approval from legislature's budget committee....
hummmmmsounds like more worms for the can to me...I'm not opening that one...just passin' it along....
...The plan supported by Insuranc Commissioner Jim Donelon, is one part of Blanko's pkg of proposals that aim to halt the steady increase in homeowners / commercial property ins rates.
..How much ya wanna bet this is going to be more for the benifit for big corps and such and really screw over the little guy....
Other proposals moving through the legislature include...a bill to abolish the state's ins. regulators, another to create a new office of consumer advocacy, to represent policyholders with complaints against insurance companies.
The $100 Million Dollar proposal by Rep: Karen Carter of New Orleans moves to the full senate for debate...hummmmmmmmmmm
Information gathered from WDSU's news online service...( stupid Cox cable...they still haven't fixed it yet and I have no t.v. to watch the news.....arggggggggg).
Ok folks...maybe I just don't know enough about this...but I am interested in what you think regarding this situation. Do you think it just sounds like a raw deal or maybe a payoff to the insurance companies.....
like uhm....why can't our government set up an insurance policy that covers both flood, and housing etc...why the hell should it be separate....hell anything can happen anywere now a days...
This way when folks can't afford the property insurance they can at least get it from the government for less right? Heck ya can't get flood insurance anywhere here only through the state...so why not the same deal with homeowners insurance. This way we can put our money were it belongs...
I just have a feeling this is to benefit the big corporate companies and buisness and screw the little guy...we are flippin' the bill for them while they get the big tax brakes for starting a company here...for employing our folks...yet most of them now a days don't offer decent life or health insurance pkg anymore...no real benefits so most have to work and live hand to mouth.
What gives man...
So needless to say...send me a comment on what you think regarding the situation. I will put it on my blog sight for all to think about and chew on for a bit.
Now on to something everyone in the New Orleans and state of La should know by now...unfortunatly for some slimy reason no-one is checkin' and in too much of a hurry....so
read on and get the hint...Protect yourselves and be smart.
All workers BUT DRYWALL OR CARPENTERS require a license from the State of Louisiana, and can not use an out of state license to work here.
So all Contractors that are working on folks home here in the coastal state of Louisiana....
MUST HAVE WORKERS COMP INSURANCE AND A GL INSURANCE POLICY LISTING YOU THE PROPERTY OWNER AS THE BENEFICIARY FOR THE GL ( GENERAL LIABILITY) POLICY BEFORE ANY WORK IS TO BE DONE TO YOUR PROPERTY.
THIS IS TO COVER WHAT EVER SCREW UPS THEY MAKE AND TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR FOR THEM, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY TWICE.
KEEP IN MIND...THEY CAN NOT USE AN OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TO WORK ON YOUR HOME....THEY MUST HAVE A STATE ISSUED CONTRACTORS LICENSE FOLKS AND IT SHOULD BE FROM HERE......!!!!!
TAKE HEED AND COVER YOUR OWN ASSES AND MAKE SURE THIS IS DONE...
BECAUSE i SHUR HATE HEARING ABOUT OUR FOLKS HERE BEING RIPPED OFF....
GET A CONTRACT SIGNED AND CHECK THOSE I'S AND T'S AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE RIGHT BEFORE YOU SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE.
Now for some strange news...ok now when you read this...think of what I said regarding our eco system...and such....
Satiago Chile: Five acre glacial lake in Southern Chile has vanished.
The disappearance of the lake in Bernardo O'Higgins Nat. Pk was discovered in late May by park rangers.
Why of course they were stunned to find a 130 foot deep crater right where a large lake had been just two months earlier ( with the most beautiful glacial to view....) when they last visited the area.
The empty lake is about 4, 921 feet ABOVE Sea level.....
man talk about a drop...i just want to know were the aliens are at this point...ahhhhhhhh
soon we may have no hills to run to ...
Ok now that is my story and I am stickin' to it...so be smart....get your pet's fixed and chiped!!!
Now go in peace my dear hearts and be safe...
