The Great American Cook Off

Ola folks....
just trying to gear up for my trip to Mexico...the only thing I know to say is ...TACO.

Anywho.......the past weekend was Arena Football here. Man did the folks pack in for that one.
Loved it...
Too bad they didn't spend the money around town instead of all the t-shirt shops on Decature.
But hell...any little bit helps.
Thank you fellow americans and tourists....

Don't miss out on Satchamo fest either....it's way cool.
Starts this weekend, so come on down....

Now for the Great American Sea Food Cook- off.
Yaaaaaa baby....give it too me...me wants da food.

There will be 28 states competing in this....for King or Queen of Seafood.
Heads up... for the past three years the Gulf states have won this battle...
Now I would have thought that Main would have given us a run for our money.

Any howwwwwww....this starts this weekend. Aug 3rd and goes I believe through the 5th.
The sea food competition goes for two days.. on the third day the real fun begins.

An alligator cook off is happening between three cooking schools in and around Louisiana.
Kick ass man, we got the food....so come on down.
you need info you say?....well go to www.WDSU.com and click on the link called...seen on 6 link and you shall find all you need to know....so come on down and join us...
I betcha can't beat us in the food business!

Also make note that, The White Linen as well as Dirty linen night starts here in the French Quarter as well.
When? Ok...White Linen is Aug 4th, one night only.
Then Dirty Linen on Aug 11th also one night only.
What's it got yawl ask?
Food, Drink and great spirits all the way around down Royal Street.
Here's what they do if ya don't know...
We all block off the streets on Royal all the way down.
The art galleries have wine, food, etc and it is like an art walk with lot's of fun and drink.
It brings the neighborhood out for all of this and you will see some amazing art work to boot.
It is a fun time. To me it's right up there with French Quarter Fest.
Yawl should come on down and check out our dying art scene.
There are so many galleries closing due to lack of business.
Looks like the t-shirt and touristy type shops are what is gonna make it here, so ...
help us out folks and help save our art galleries and communities.

Come look at the art before it is gone and get some great deals on them as well.
You won't regret the visit.
New Orleans has some of the craziest and most incredible art scene .
Don't forget about the artists in Jackson Square as well as behind the ST. Louis Cathedral.

We also have a great folk art Gallery. One that hasn't closed as of yet.
Unfortunately Pelligro folk art gallery closed.
We now have Kako's folk art gallery left on Royal street.
So check it out. There are alot of local artists there on display..Yep just there hangin' around in a glass box...Joke...their art man...their art...check it out...yep my art is in there too.
If ya come on down and see my work let me know what ya think ok.
Who knows, maybe I'll be hangin' out at Kako's for the fun.

In other news...I sure wish all yawl would leave your darn lights on at night and light up the streets.
Not only for your own safety, but also for the neighbors as well as the tourists.
And learn to pick up the damn phone and call if there is anything suspicious or bad happening.
Man if ya get no response and the problem continues...make some damn noise.
Call Six on Your Side and let them in on the problem. Give them all the info and let them kick into gear.
Let's take back our city for the good.
Ow and stop the bitchin' regarding the latest National Geographic issue.
Man, yawl...they warned you in an issue that came out in I believe Oct of 04'.

Now I'm not happy with all the damn condo's they want to put up here either, nor am I happy about them building out onto the water. What idiots. That is a disaster just waiting to happen.
But it is also something that has been in the works way before the storm.

I do feel that Katrina only made it easier for them to achieve this goal.
It's what I call "kick em when their down" type thing.
We all knew that would happen.
We let it happen by not helping our neighbors.
By not working as a community.
By turning "the other cheek".
We let our selves and our city down.
Now let's take it back and give a shit please.
Call the cops if there is a problem outside your window.
Be a part of your community.
Don't let violence, discrimination, and ignorance rule this city.

On a fun note now...if yawl wanna good look at our presidential cabinet....
Rent the movie "Wakko's dream" man....
that say's Bush all over it....what a "puck up", and we let this presidential cabinet do it too.
owwwwww man the least they coulda done was kiss us and use lube! ouch!!!!!

O-tay yawl....Don't be surprised if this one get's longer later. I'm looking for things for ya.

Until them....keep in mind.
"True Peace Is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice".
